In 1989 his painting "Canyon Collectables" was chosen as the Centennial painting for Randall County, Texas.
His 1993 athletic print commissioned by West Texas A&M has been popular with alumni and the sports set.

In related areas Brown has been an illustrator for the "Texas Evening Star" and a calendar artist for Western Media Corp. of Austin. His works were included in the souvenir program for the "TEXAS" production in Palo Duro Canyon. In 1995 he was commissioned to do a painting to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Virgil Henson Activity Center. He has also done several paintings that were used as Christmas cards for various organizations and businesses.
