Shortly after the beginning of his art career in 1973, Brown found that his work was in great demand over a wide area. In 31 years his work has been displayed in galleries from Indiana to Old Mexico and at his own studio-gallery in Canyon, Texas.
R. Russell has accumulated over 180 professional awards. He was chosen to show in the prestigious "TEXAS RANGER HALL OF FAME SHOW" at Fort Fisher in Waco, Texas where in 8 years he placed 1st in aqueous media twice and won the coveted "RANGER AWARD" for the best work in the show. He won many of his awards in early years with the Amarillo Fine Arts Association and had numerous works tour with the Texas Fine Arts Traveling Exhibition. Russell was recently informed that one of his works "American Boy" has been procured by the Federal Aviation Administration and now hangs in Washington D.C.
Russell has collectors in 49 states and 22 foreign countries.
Russell owns and operates KRAZY KRAFT CUSTOM FRAMING AND GALLERY in Canyon, Texas located on the Happy highway across from the new Canyon High School.
